Photographic Tip Number 7
Before pressing your finger on the shutter, have you placed your subject in the best place?
Places to Visit - The River Crane in West London
A tributary of The Thames, the Crane is a wonderful place for a walk or cycle. The Environment Agency, local councils and The Wildlife Trust have spent a lot of time and money here and it shows.
Photographic Tip Number 6
Reflections can be an excellent way of having fun, filling space and adding drama to your pictures.
My favourite pictures of 2022
It’s fun looking back over my pictures and being reminded of some spectacular moments and I hope you enjoy them too. In some ways, the weather contributed hugely, bringing us a hot summer, followed by the longest autumn I can remember.
Winter on Barnes Common
Winter can be an exciting time for a photographer, with the sun being low in the sky and the potential for some dramatic weather. However, these days, winter in the South East is more likely to be 8 degrees, dull and damp, which can be very frustrating.
The return of early morning mist and fog
One of the delights of autumn, is not just the amazing array of colours you get but also the return of wonderful mists and fog. This is particularly prevalent in our Royal Parks but can occur in other places too and here are a selection of some of my favourites…
Photographic Tip Number 5
Perspective can make or break a good photograph; so always stop before taking your picture and ask yourself, might this look better from a different angle?.
Fungi - autumn's present to us all
If you go down to the woods today…fungi can be found anytime but particularly in the autumn, when its warm and wet. You’ll need something to lean on as they are best examined and photographed down at their level and my other bit of advice is to look out for rotting wood, as they love nothing better - enjoy.
Autumn Colours
