Photographic Tip Number 13
I have spoken before about researching your subject and timing your visits for the best results in your photography. The month of March is an excellent example of what I mean.
It is an open secret that the best times of day to indulge in a little photography, is either first thing in the morning or last thing at night. This is on account of the glorious light you can sometimes get, if the conditions are right. However, as the days get ever longer, this becomes more and more of a burden, especially in the morning, where an early alarm call is necessary.
Some places are of course closed to visitors outside of these times, which can be very annoying. The cull in Richmond Park in February means that you miss the dawn. So, keeping tabs on the time of year and the opening times of the places you’d like to visit is a useful thing. Kew Gardens is a good example, as from the beginning of March, they close their doors at 6pm, and before the clocks go forward (on Sunday 31st March this year, which is also Easter Sunday), it allows you to see the end of the day in. So, always keep this in mind and be sure to do your research.
